UKPIN Guidelines

This section contains the consensus statements of best practice, compiled by the members of the UK Primary Immunodeficiency Network. These Guidelines are for the use of immunology doctors and nurses looking after patients with primary immunodeficiencies. These Guidelines should be read and adapted for local use by each primary immunodeficiency centre

How the Guidelines are formulated is described in Guideline 1. Basically, the PIN Writing Group chooses a topic and compiles a draft Guideline. Drafts are made available to everyone (doctors, nurses, patients and relatives) via this website. The Writing Group then considers all suggestions and comments, and produces a final version. All Guidelines are reviewed on a regular basis and will change over time.

Important notice for patients
Patients are welcome to read these Guidelines, but should bear in mind that these exist only to guide clinical care - not dictate how an individual case must be managed. Your case may be managed quite differently, yet completely correctly, by your Immunologist. Clinical judgement overrides these Guidelines at all times.

We welcome comments and suggestions - please see the contact page
