Responsibilities as Chairman of UKPIN

To provide professional leadership and direction to UKPIN and to ensure that UKPIN is progressing the strategic and operational objectives.

To request reports from working groups and put onto web site for dissemination.

To represent the organisation in funding the interests of UKPIN, to review regular treasurer’s reports and to liaise with the sponsors.

To meet, as required, with DOH, Purchasers, Providers Professional bodies, patient organisations and industry or to organise an appropriate deputy.

To direct the business of the Steering Committee, organising meetings and committees and project groups as appropriate.

To assist the appointed officers of UKPIN.

To develop the strategic plan for UKPIN in consultation with the Steering Group and other professionals.

To develop the business plan for UKPIN, in conjunction with the Secretary and Treasurer.

To ensure good relations with other professional organisations with regard to primary immunodeficiencies, in particular ESID.

To chair the Steering Committee meetings, liaising with Administrative Assistant and Secretary as appropriate.

To be accountable to the membership of UKPIN.

To hold office for a maximum of 4 years.
